Anima Eterna Brugge

An online special by:

Anima Eterna Brugge became known for its historical performance practice. Today, it is an international project orchestra based in Bruges. Its instrumentation ranges from 7 to 80 musicians, depending on the programme. Anima Eterna's repertoire encompasses the works from Monteverdi to Gershwin.

Each new project is preceded by an extensive source research, in which it is determined which instruments the composer would have been inspired with, and how these instruments would have sounded. Other elements such as play, pitch, strength, tempi and acoustics are examined very carefully. Together, they determine the sound and character of the performance.

In 2015, Jos Van Immerseel will be assisted for Anima Eterna's big projects. Afterwards, the first concerts with a guest conductor will follow.
