Le Concert Olympique was founded in 2010 by Beethoven expert and conductor Jan Caeyers. Its 45 internationally recruited players converge several times each year to work on an exclusive production. In addition to this, LCO has residencies in Antwerp and Brussels, in deSingel and in Flagey respectively.
Le Concert has been performing both in Belgium and abroad. Upcoming concerts include the Beethoven-Festivals of Bonn (DE) and Warsaw (PL), and concerts at Konzerthaus Vienna (AT) and Concertgebouw Amsterdam (NL). The big vocal works of Beethoven will also be performed together with the Arnold Schönberg Choir from Vienna (AT). In Beethoven's jubilee year, commemorating his baptism circa 1770, a semi-staged production of Leonore (1806) is scheduled.
Le Concert Olympique is orchestra-in-residence at Leuven University.
