The cellist-chamber musician Roel Dieltiens studied in Antwerp and Detmold (DE). His musicality and unconventional approach have earned him the status of being an authority on both the modern and the baroque cello, and have enabled him to perform internationally in important concert halls. He founded the Ensemble Explorations and since 2010 performs in a trio with pianist Andreas Staier and violinist Daniel Sepec.
Dieltiens has made numerous recordings in duo, trio, quartet and quintet formations, playing the works of J.S. Bach, Vivaldi, Rossini, Mozart, Boccherini and Haydn, to name only the most renowned composers.
In addition to pursuing his musical career, Dieltiens teaches cello at the Hochschule der Künste in Zürich (CH) and he is associated with the Lemmensinstituut in Leuven, where he teaches chamber music.
